The NDIS stands for National Disability Insurance Scheme. This scheme was introduced in 2013 to support Australians who have permanent or significant disability that impact their everyday lives.
The NDIS is there to work with people with disability, to recognise supports that are necessary for you to live your life and achieve your goals. They help develop a plan to fund these supports and give you the best life you deserve.
Supports are there to help you achieve your goals, targeting:
- Independence
- Education
- Employment
- Involvement in your community
- Health and wellbeing
Funds provided have the possibility of going towards resources and supports such as:
- Equipment
- Home modifications
- Community activities
- Support with employment
- Mobility equipment
- Therapies
You will have the control over how, when and where supports are provided. Giving you the confidence and security of access to the support that you require over your lifetime.
Each NDIS support plan is tailored to your needs and are developed to aid in achieving your goals.
